Advanced Searching The Advanced Search is our robust, user-friendly search engine. Besides the location and categories, you can submit Additional Preferences to refine your search (see image above). Each letter corresponds to the option's description below:
Word Search Searching for a specific word (or words) is a quick way to find what you
really want. Choose an obvious word first, such as a word most likely to appear in the business's name or offer.
Automatic "and" Queries
By default, we only return businesses that include all of your search terms in the name or offer(s). To further narrow your search, just include more words.
Example:
Capitalization
The Word Search is NOT case sensitive. Typing words in uppercase, lowercase, or both does not affect the results.
Example:
Excluding Words
Type a minus sign ( - ) immediately in front of a word or phrase you want to exclude from your search. Be sure to include a space before the minus sign.
Example:
"OR" Searches
The Word Search supports the logical "OR" operator. To retrieve businesses that include either word A or word B in their name or offer(s), use an uppercase OR between the words.
Example:
Phrase Searches
Simply type quotation marks around two or more words. Common words in a phrase are included in the search (see "Common Words" below). Place the plus ( + ) or minus ( - ) signs within the quotes of a phrase you wish to include or exclude.
Example:
Common Words
Entering common words, such as "the" and "of" for example, can cause unexpected results. Unless searching for a specific phrase that includes common words, we recommend not including them in your search.
Mile Radius You can increase or decrease the area to include in your search. The default is 25 miles.
Filters Check any filters to apply to your search:
50% Limits the results to business with offers of half off or more.
New Limits the results to business or offers added to the program recently.
Results/Page Select how many results you would like to display on each page. This feature is useful if you wish to print a list of results near a particular location.
